Lot 663: A late 20th-century hand-turned wooden tiered cheese board by David Greig, dated 1991
A hand-turned wooden tiered tray or cheese board, crafted from a dark-stained hardwood. The upper tier features a circular inset ceramic tile decorated with a printed still-life design of fruit and nuts, including strawberries, plums, a pear, and hazelnuts. The base of the item is hand-signed in ink D. GREIG. 1991. and retains a gold-tone adhesive maker’s label printed with HAND CRAFTED BY DAVID GREIG, 1 CHURCH ROAD, KIRKPATRICK DURHAM, CASTLE DOUGLAS. The board is constructed in two levels with a central raised section for the ceramic insert.
