Lot 808: A mid-20th-century hardwood open armchair with contemporary botanical upholstery
A single open occasional armchair of mid-20th-century design, featuring a hardwood frame with a warm reddish-brown mahogany-style finish. The chair is designed with sweeping curved arms that include upholstered pads and is supported by turned front legs. The construction features visible mortise and tenon joinery where the arms join the back and front supports. The piece has been recently reupholstered in a modern cream-coloured fabric displaying a bold, large-scale botanical pattern of leaves and branches in dark teal, black, and tan. The seat, back, and arm pads are finished with antiqued brass-headed upholstery nailhead trim.
