Estimated price: £10 - £20

Buyer's Premium:

This late Victorian rocking armchair, dating to circa 1890-1910, is constructed from a stained hardwood, likely beech or oak, with a medium-to-dark brown finish. The frame exhibits extensive spindle-turning, including bobbin and ring-turned rails, armrests, and stretchers. The backrest features two main uprights topped with turned finials, with multiple spindles forming the internal support. The chair is upholstered in a kilim-style flat-weave textile, featuring traditional geometric patterns in deep red, black, and cream tones. The fabric on the backrest is secured to the upper rail with a row of decorative brass-headed studs. An illegible white adhesive inventory label is located on the rear left upright. The design is characteristic of the late 19th-century revival styles, often referred to as a Lincoln-style rocker.
