Lot 846: An Arts and Crafts style oak armchair with green upholstered seat and back
An armchair in the Arts and Crafts style, constructed with a dark-stained oak frame. The design features broad, flat, and slightly curved armrests with square-cut ends, supported by vertical slats. The chair is designed with a raked backrest and a fixed seat. The backrest, seat, and armrests are upholstered in a green textile with a repeating scroll-pattern motif, secured to the frame with decorative brass-coloured upholstery studs. The joinery is characteristic of the functional aesthetic prevalent in the late 19th to early 20th century. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior parts of the frame.
