Lot 883: A Set of Queen Anne Style Mahogany Dining Chairs with Cane Seats
A set of dining chairs in the Queen Anne revival style, comprising an armchair and several side chairs. The chairs are constructed from mahogany with a rich reddish-brown colour and finish. Each chair features a shaped vase splat above an inset seat with woven cane-work. The chairs are supported by cabriole front legs decorated with carved shell motifs to the knees, terminating in pad feet, and are balanced by raked rear legs. The design and craftsmanship are characteristic of 20th-century reproductions in the style of manufacturers such as Ethan Allen.
