Lot 894: A Pair of Mid-Century Modern Windsor Style Spindle-Back Chairs Attributed to Ercol
A pair of mid-century modern side chairs in the Windsor or hoop-back style, attributed to Ercol. These chairs feature steam-bent wooden hoop backs, each containing seven vertical spindles. The solid wood seats are carved with a subtle saddle shape and are mounted on four splayed, tapered legs. The construction is typical of British mid-20th-century furniture, often utilising solid elm for the seats and beech for the frames and spindles. One chair retains a small, rectangular blue label on the reverse of the back hoop, though any text or branding is no longer legible.
