Lot 978: A Large Two-Part Stained Pine Storage Cabinet and Chest of Drawers
A substantial two-part storage unit manufactured from knotty pine with a stained and varnished finish. The upper section comprises a pair of cupboard doors with two raised-and-fielded rectangular panels each, set beneath a moulded cornice. The lower section features a chest of drawers in an asymmetric configuration. On the left side are six small drawers arranged in two columns of three, separated from five wide drawers on the right by a decorative scrolled vertical divider. The piece is fitted throughout with matching turned wooden pull knobs. This style is characteristic of late 20th-century country pine furniture produced in the United Kingdom. A small auction identifier tag marked 978 is affixed to the front. No maker marks were identified during inspection.
