A coloured maritime print, likely a lithograph, after the original 1852 painting by Samuel Walters (1811-1882). The composition depicts the Inman Line iron screw steamer City of Glasgow at a bustling harbour quayside. The vessel is shown with three masts and a central funnel, surrounded by various figures, dockworkers, and horse-drawn carts laden with barrels. Other shipping is visible in the misty distance. Inscriptions along the lower margin include Painted by S. Walters and the date 1852 at the lower left, with a central title identifying the ship. The print is presented in a dark-stained wooden frame featuring a gilt-effect inner slip and a cream-coloured mount under glass.
