Lot 4: A Trio of Cut Lead Crystal Tableware
A collection of three items of cut lead crystal, comprising a water jug and two circular bowls of graduated size. The jug features a bulbous body with a substantial loop handle and a pinched pouring spout. The two bowls are of deep-sided circular form. All pieces are decorated with brilliant-cut patterns, including a deep diamond or hobnail cross-hatch design to the bodies. The bases of the jug and both bowls feature a multi-point rayed star-cut design. The style and quality of the cutting are consistent with 20th-century British or Irish lead crystal production, such as that of Webb Corbett, Stuart, or Waterford. No etched maker’s marks are discernible. One bowl bears a small adhesive auction lot label printed with the number 472.
