Lot 130: A Mid-20th-Century Personalised Plywood School Trunk
A mid-20th-century wooden school trunk or storage chest of simple rectangular construction, made from stained plywood with internal wood framing. The lid is attached with two brass-toned butt hinges and opens to reveal a single interior compartment. The top surface of the lid is prominently marked with the name MARCUS in large black block letters. The interior of the lid contains several handwritten inscriptions in black marker, including I followed by a heart symbol and Gareth, the name J. Kenward, and a partial inscription reading and Bo…. The front panel of the chest shows remnants of vintage decals, with fragments of the words HUNTERS and CARAVAN visible.
