Lot 197: A Mid-20th Century Reconstituted Stone and Copper Garden Water Feature Component
A mixed-media sculptural garden feature or fountain component, consisting of a textured base of weathered reconstituted stone fashioned into a stylised fist-like or organic form. This base supports an integrated copper pipe structure, including a main vertical pipe with a cast metal bird figure attached. The bird appears to be cast from a copper alloy or bronze and shows detailed plumage. The copper pipework features a smaller secondary outlet with a circular aperture. The entire piece shows evidence of significant outdoor weathering, with the copper having developed a characteristic green verdigris patina and the stone displaying organic lichen growth. No maker’s marks or signatures are present.
