Lot 295: Kirkton House Enamelled Cast Iron Shallow Casserole Dish
A circular enamelled cast iron shallow casserole dish, or braiser, by Kirkton House. The vessel features a deep blue enamelled exterior with two integrated loop handles. The matching lid is decorated with concentric circular ridges and is topped with a brass-toned metal knob. The metal knob on the lid is embossed with the name KIRKTON HOUSE, arranged in a slight arc.
Condition report:
The item is in used condition. There are visible chips to the blue enamel coating on the lower exterior of the main body, exposing the dark cast iron beneath which shows surface oxidation. The exterior surface shows general light scuffing and minor scratches consistent with domestic use. The interior condition is not visible in the provided images.
