Lot 352: A Collection of Decorative Ceramics and Tableware
A collection of various earthenware and porcelain items, comprising serving dishes, teaware, and novelty decorative pieces. The lot includes a tripartite leaf-form serving dish with hand-painted pink floral motifs and a yellow loop handle, and a shallow bowl featuring a brown lattice pattern with pink cherry blossom decoration and a scalloped rim, in the style of Royal Winton. Teaware consists of a novelty fruit-form teapot with a foliate lid and twig-form handle, a white porcelain teapot with gilt-effect trim and pink rose sprays, and a matching creamer and sugar bowl set with floral transfer-print designs resembling Colclough patterns. Nursery-themed items include a porcelain mug featuring Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit characters and a boxed ceramic teddy bear trinket box. Other pieces include a large oval platter with a central raised cabbage-leaf design, a novelty teapot-form clock with a tag reading Cappuccino, a small white lattice-work ceramic basket with applied floral accents, and a blue and white transfer-printed bowl with geometric interior patterns. The collection is completed by a small dark green crystalline-glazed vase, a white ceramic bell, and a small hand-modelled flower posy.
Condition report:
The items generally appear to be in good, used condition. Typical age-related crazing is visible to the glaze of the earthenware pieces, specifically on the lattice bowl and the tripartite dish. One item remains in its original retail box.
