Lot 448: A Set of Porcelain Tea and Coffee Service Pieces with Lustre and Cobalt Decoration
A part porcelain tea and coffee service featuring an apricot lustre and cobalt blue ground. The collection includes a lidded coffee pot, a lidded teapot, a cream jug, an open sugar bowl, and several teacups and saucers. Each piece is decorated with hand-painted or hand-enhanced floral bouquets featuring pink, yellow, and white flowers with green foliage. The bodies transition from an orange-apricot lustre ground at the top to a deep cobalt blue at the base. The service features extensive gilt accents, including scrollwork on the lustre sections, gilt rims, and partially gilt handles. The forms are lobed and scalloped throughout. The bases bear an incised pattern or shape number 350. Other maker’s marks are present but are not clearly legible.
