Lot 473: A Collection of Sinclair ZX81 Home Computing Hardware, Software, and Literature
An assortment of vintage Sinclair ZX81 home computing equipment and accessories, dating from the early 1980s. The lot includes two Sinclair ZX81 microcomputers, each featuring the characteristic black plastic casing and integrated membrane keyboard with manufacturer branding. One unit bears a lot sticker numbered 473 and the other a handwritten sticker marked 9.87.
Expansion hardware consists of a Sinclair ZX 16K RAM pack, housed within its original internal polystyrene protective tray. One AC mains power adapter with associated cabling is included.
The software collection comprises five cassette tapes in original jewel cases: Sinclair ZX81 VU-CALC by Psion (16K RAM), Sinclair ZX81 VU-FILE by Psion (16K RAM), a Sinclair ZX81 Games/Utility tape (including Lunar Landing, Twenty One, Combat, Substrike, Code Breaker, and Mayday), a Sinclair ZX81 Utility tape (including Telephone, Note Pad, and Bank Account), and a Sinclair ZX81 Educational tape (including Maths, Balance, Volumes, Averages, Bases, and Temp).
Literature includes an original spiral-bound Sinclair ZX81 Basic Programming instructional manual and a copy of ZX81 BASIC BOOK by Robin Norman, published by Newnes Microcomputer Books.
