Lot 524: A Collection of Cut Lead Crystal and Glassware Table Accessories
A collection of decorative lead crystal and cut glassware comprising vases, a cruet set, and a lidded jar. The vases feature a tapered form with flared, notched rims, decorated with complex pinwheel and star motifs within oval reserves, interspersed with panels of fine diamond-point hatching and vertical pillar cutting. The vintage metal-mounted cruet set consists of a wirework frame housing several cut glass condiment bottles, including shakers with perforated metal caps and bottles with faceted glass stoppers, all decorated with a traditional hobnail or diamond-cut pattern. The small, squat lidded jar features a heavy diamond-cut body and a matching lid topped with a faceted, star-cut finial. Certain items bear small adhesive lot tags numbered 571 and A52.
Condition report:
The glassware appears clear with no evidence of internal clouding or sick glass. The collection is in good overall condition, though minor chips or nibbles may be present to the sharp edges of the cut decoration, notched rims, and faceted stoppers consistent with age and use.
