Lot 539: An Assortment of Vintage Die-cast Model Vehicles in a Display Case and a Collection of Miscellaneous Curios
This lot comprises an assortment of fifteen die-cast model delivery vehicles and trucks, primarily in the style of Lledo Days Gone or Matchbox Models of Yesteryear. The vehicles are constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components and are housed in a wooden wall-mounting display case featuring fifteen individual red-lined compartments. The models display a variety of vintage-style British promotional liveries, including brands and labels such as Oxo, Wizard, Harveys Bristol Cream, Golden Shred, Pickfords, Hovis, Cow Keeper, Royal Mail with GR cipher, Weetabix, Bunty, PG Tips, Swan Vestas, Lux, and Squadron. Additionally, the lot includes a collection of miscellaneous collectibles. This assortment features a group of glass marbles with various swirl patterns contained within a tartan lithographed tin. Specimen shells include a polished spotted cowrie and a larger ribbed gastropod shell. The collection of brassware consists of a large decorative key featuring the numbers 18 and 21 on the bow, a corkscrew modelled in the form of a woman, a figurine of a man carrying two buckets, and a set of small nested weights. Also present is a dark, curved horn or tusk-like object with a metal cap at the base.
