Lot 542: An Assortment of Vintage Cased and Loose Silver-Plated Flatware
A collection of vintage and antique cased and loose flatware, typical of late 19th to mid-20th-century British household services. The lot features a cased fish service comprising six knives and six forks with silver-plated blades and tines, decorated with engraved foliate and scroll motifs and fitted with cream-coloured handles, likely ivorine or bone. The blades are marked EPNS for electroplated nickel silver. Also included is a cased dessert service comprising six knives and six forks with similar cream-coloured handles and silver-plated components, presented in a red velvet-lined case. A small brown snakeskin-effect case contains six teaspoons featuring ornate cast-decorated handles with foliate and scroll designs. The lot is further comprised of an assortment of loose items including silver-plated three-tine pastry forks and a souvenir spoon with a shell-shaped bowl and an enameled crest terminal in red, blue, and white. One box bears a label for Liskeard Auction Rooms Lot 542.
