Lot 568: A Capodimonte cobalt blue and white twin-handled ceramic vase
A decorative twin-handled ceramic vase featuring a cobalt blue ground decorated with white foliate and scrollwork motifs. The handles and neck are accented with gilt highlights. The underside of the base is marked with a black printed five-pointed crown above a stylized N, with CAPODIMONTE printed in an arc. The ceramic is finished with a clear glaze showing prominent crazing. Manufacturing characteristics include blue glaze runs on the underside of the base.
Condition report:
The item shows overall glaze crazing to the base and surface staining on the unglazed footrim. There is a small area of adhesive residue on the underside. While the main body appears intact, the quality of the primary photograph prevents a definitive inspection of the rim and handles for minor chips or potential restoration. Blue glaze pooling and runs from the manufacturing process are visible on the base.
