Lot 597: A Collection of Modern Nostalgic British Motoring Postcards and Blank Greeting Cards
This lot consists of an assortment of modern postcards and blank greeting cards with themes centred on mid-20th-century British motoring and motorcycling. The collection includes various scenes such as Rockers on the Road at a rural garage and reprints of vintage advertisements. Key brands and subjects depicted include Triumph motorcycles, Norton motorcycles featuring the Dominator De Luxe, and Lambretta Innocenti scooters. One card is a commemorative postcard for the 1,000 Miles Race at Brooklands 1932. Several blank greeting cards are from The Rothbury Collection featuring artwork by Kevin Walsh, published by Rothbury Publishing in the Nostalgia Collection series. These cards were printed in Great Britain and carry barcode 5028991182067. Also included are postcards by Mayfair Cards of London produced for the Brooklands Museum, with one card marked copyright 1994 and bearing barcode 5023306123452. The cards are largely housed in original clear plastic protective sleeves.
