Lot 601: A Pair of Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) Transporter Model Vans
This lot comprises two large-scale model vehicles styled after the Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) Transporter. The first item is a decorative model van constructed from tinplate. It features a split-screen design in a two-tone blue and white colour scheme. The model is finished with an intentionally distressed and weathered appearance, including simulated rust and paint chips. It is fitted with a roof rack carrying two wooden-style surfboards. The underside retains an adhesive label stating: This is not a toy / For Decorative Use Only. The second item is a large-scale plastic model van in a light blue and cream two-tone colour scheme. The windows are finished in a yellow-tinted transparent plastic. This model features free-wheeling wheels and a front-mounted spare wheel cover. The underside is embossed with the following manufacturer markings: TM and copyright 2004 / MGA Entertainment, Inc. / Made in China. This item was originally produced as a vehicle accessory for a doll line.
