Lot 679: A Victorian Cobalt Blue and Gilt Porcelain Dessert Service in the Style of Aynsley
A Victorian porcelain dessert service consisting of approximately 10 pieces, comprising nine plates/low bowls and one footed tazza. The service is decorated in a style resembling the Aynsley Hatfield pattern, featuring wide cobalt blue borders enriched with a continuous gilt interlocking link or trellis pattern. The centres are hand-painted with varying polychrome floral sprays, depicting roses, daisies, and other wildflowers in shades of pink, yellow, and purple. Each piece has a scalloped, lobed rim finished with a gilt edge. The tazza features a circular bowl set upon a short, flared pedestal base. No manufacturer backstamps are visible on the underside of the pieces. One item bears an auction label for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 679.
