Lot 792: An Edwardian Style Mahogany Carver Armchair with Modern Botanical Upholstery
This Edwardian style carver armchair features a mahogany-stained hardwood frame with contemporary upholstery. The chair is constructed with a slightly curved top rail over a rectangular padded back panel. The open arms have curved uprights and include upholstered pads or manchettes. The padded seat is supported by a wooden frame standing on turned front legs and square-sectioned, slightly splayed back legs. The upholstery consists of a modern cream-coloured fabric decorated with a botanical branch and leaf motif in shades of teal, blue, and taupe. The edges of the upholstered sections are finished with a border of antiqued brass-headed upholstery tacks. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the wooden frame. The frame carries contemporary auction identification labels for Liskeard Auction Rooms and lot number 792.
