Lot 849: An Ercol Old Colonial Elm and Beech Dresser, 1978
An Ercol Old Colonial range dresser, model number 282, produced in 1978. This two-part piece is constructed from solid elm and beech with a dark-stained finish. The lower sideboard section comprises a central bank of four graduated drawers, each fitted with turned wooden pull handles. These are flanked by two cupboard doors featuring decorative rectangular panelling and matching turned handles. The unit is supported on short, squared legs. The upper section is a two-tier open plate rack with horizontal shelves featuring plate grooves and shaped side supports. A circular gold-toned manufacturer label is located on the interior of one cupboard door. The label is inscribed BUCKINGHAMSHIRE ENGLAND along the top edge, featuring the ERCOL logo with the numbers 282 and 1978 to the right, and MADE IN HIGH WYCOMBE along the bottom edge.
