Lot 871: Late Victorian Triptych Overmantel Mirror with Day Dreams and Love's Messenger Prints
A late Victorian or Edwardian triptych wall mirror, constructed as an overmantel piece. The mirror is set within a dark-stained wooden frame, likely mahogany or walnut, featuring tiered decorative mouldings and a beaded inner border surrounding the three internal sections. The central panel contains a rectangular mirror plate. This is flanked by two vertical side panels with a forest green backing, each containing a monochrome oval print in the Romantic style. The left-hand print is titled Day Dreams and depicts a woman in classical-style dress in a wooded setting. The right-hand print is titled Love’s Messenger and shows a similar figure reaching upwards towards a bird. The frame currently displays two auction labels, including a pink circular sticker numbered 32 and a white rectangular sticker numbered 871.
