Lot 961: A Wooden Tabletop Sketching Box and Watercolour Set Containing Winsor & Newton Supplies
An artist’s portable tabletop sketching box and watercolour set. The unit features a light-toned wooden upper section that functions as an easel with an integrated support ledge, mounted onto a dark-stained wooden base containing a drawer. The interior is fitted with a white moulded compartmented tray. The contents include a rectangular white mixing palette with multiple wells, a box of Winsor & Newton medium kneaded putty rubber, and a box of Winsor & Newton Willow Thin artists’ charcoal sticks. The set also contains an assortment of watercolour half-pans in various colours, several of which are labelled with the Cotman brand. The exterior of the wooden case bears an auction label for HCP Auctions South West Lot 961 and a handwritten sticker numbered 2927.
