Lot 16: Two pieces of military field equipment comprising a tri-fold entrenching tool and a corrugated steel transit chest
A lot comprising two items of military equipment of British origin. The first is a tri-fold entrenching tool, NATO pattern, constructed from steel with an olive-drab paint finish. It features a D-shaped handle and a threaded locking collar mechanism that allows the spade head to be adjusted for use as a shovel or a pick. The blade includes a serrated edge for cutting. The second item is a rectangular transit chest constructed from corrugated steel for structural reinforcement, finished in dark olive green paint. The chest features a hinged lid secured by a central latch and two side-mounted rectangular carrying handles. The side of the chest is embossed with a British Broad Arrow mark followed by the digits 0204-7583, identifying the item as British Ministry of Defence property.
