Lot 536: A Trio of Decorative Carved Wood and Mixed Media Items
A collection of decorative objects including a carved wooden toggle and bottle stoppers. The carved toggle is crafted from a reddish-brown timber with fine vertical striations and organic forms, resembling a botanical seed pod or cicada. It is inset with two small beads: one dark and one pale green, and features a suspension loop at the top. The bottle stoppers include an example with a dark turned wood head and natural cork base, which bears a paper tape label with the handwritten digits 9653. Another stopper is of composite construction, featuring a natural cork base, a dark central sphere with metallic wire binding, and a finial carved in the form of a mythical creature in a reddish-brown material.
