A pair of Kelsboro Ware miniature character jugs, produced in England. These items are constructed from glazed ceramic and feature hand-painted polychrome decoration. The first jug depicts a male figure wearing a black tricorn hat and a red jacket, commonly identified as a huntsman character. The second jug depicts a night watchman, often referred to as Old Charley, featuring a ruddy complexion and an orange-brown hat. This specific model is distinguished by a handle modelled in the shape of a large skeleton key. Both jugs exhibit a high-gloss finish typical of mid-20th-century British earthenware collectables. While no factory marks are visible in the provided images, the designs are consistent with the known miniature series produced by Kelsboro Ware.
