Lot 162: A Cast Iron Cobbler's Stand and Three Interchangeable Lasts
This set is a traditional shoemaker’s repair kit manufactured from cast iron, comprising a central base stand and three interchangeable shoe lasts. The stand is designed with a curved base and a vertical upright featuring a square socket to receive the various anvils. The three lasts are of different sizes and shapes, intended for the repair and maintenance of various footwear styles, including boots and shoes for adults and children. A green and white adhesive label with the handwritten number 5677 is affixed to one component, and another last bears a small white sticker printed with Lot 162. An embossed character, potentially a 5 or an S, is visible on the central upright of the stand, though further identifying marks are obscured by surface oxidation.
