Lot 290: A Galvanised Steel Folding Grapnel Boat Anchor
A four-fluke folding boat anchor, known as a grapnel anchor, constructed from cast galvanised steel. The design comprises a central shank and a sliding cast locking collar which allows the four hinged flukes to be secured in either a deployed or collapsed position for compact storage. The shank terminates in an integral eyelet for rope attachment. Raised cast numerals on the shank near the collar appear to read 1.5, suggesting a weight of 1.5kg.

Condition report:
The anchor is in good, functional condition with the folding mechanism and sliding collar operating smoothly. The galvanised finish shows light surface wear and minor oxidation consistent with use in a marine environment.
