Lot 493: Two Pieces of Studio Art Glass From Mdina and Kinsale
Two pieces of quality vintage hand-blown studio art glass, attributed to the makers Mdina and Kinsale. The first item is a stylized Kinsale bird sculpture containing internal swirls of cobalt blue and opaque white glass encased within a clear glass outer layer. The second item is a globular decorative Mdina ornament or paperweight featuring a deep cobalt blue core decorated with vertical pulled trails of yellow and lime green glass, finished with a clear glass neck and spherical finial. These pieces are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century studio glass production from Malta and Ireland.
Bird: Length approximately 7 cm
Globular ornament: Height approximately 8 cm.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations.
