Lot 649: Sealed Knot Roman Style Steel Battle Re-enactment Helmet and Breastplate
A set of steel battle re-enactment armour and associated costume components produced for the Sealed Knot re-enactment society. The ensemble includes a steel helmet featuring a rounded skullcap and a high open-work crest, finished with an intentionally aged and textured rust-effect patina. The accompanying steel breastplate is designed with a central medial ridge and a weathered, pitted surface to simulate historic wear, secured by leather straps and buckles at the shoulders and sides. The lot further comprises a light brown leather bandolier with four small brass-tone buckles. The armour is worn over a dark brown faux-fur tunic with a red textile shoulder accent and a buff suede-effect under-garment. The entire assembly is mounted on a modern mannequin bust for display.
