Lot 717: A Pair of Late Victorian or Edwardian Glazed Earthenware Washstand Items comprising a Pitcher and Basin
A pair of late Victorian or Edwardian glazed earthenware items consisting of a matching pitcher and basin, likely produced in the United Kingdom. The pitcher features a bulbous body set upon a pedestal foot, a wide flared spout, and an ornate C-scroll handle with a thumb rest. The accompanying circular basin is designed with a broad, scalloped rim featuring molded relief ornamentation. The set is decorated with molded relief scrollwork and floral motifs, finished with a blended glaze transitioning through tones of olive green, pale yellow, and cream. Hand-painted details include small white daisy-like flowers with orange centres. Gilded highlights accent the rims, handle, and foot of the pitcher. No manufacturer marks or factory backstamps are visible on the exterior surfaces shown. The items bear auction stickers, including a printed label for HCP Auctions South West Lot 717 and a handwritten sticker reading 9654 MR / Jug / & Bowl.
