Lot 769: Late Victorian Two-Tier Scorched Bamboo Occasional Table
A late Victorian two-tier occasional table produced in the Aesthetic Movement style. The frame is constructed from scorched bamboo poles with a dark mottled finish. The rectangular top and lower shelf feature inset panels of woven seagrass or rattan matting. The bamboo legs are reinforced with diagonal bamboo stretchers. This type of furniture was common in the United Kingdom during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The item carries several paper auction lot stickers. No maker marks are visible on the frame or panels.
