Lot 789: A Rustic Pine Utility or Bucket Bench
A vernacular country furniture bench, possibly intended for a hallway or as a traditional bucket bench. The piece is constructed from pine or a similar softwood with a naturally weathered and scrubbed finish. It features a simple construction with a single thick plank seat flanked by two raised end-boards, each with an integral, hand-carved handle cut-out. The seat is supported by splayed legs. Three contemporary white adhesive inventory labels are fixed to the top surface, bearing the characters 1088, 1087, and 789. No permanent maker marks, stamps, or signatures are visible. This item is characteristic of British or European country furniture typically used in farmhouse or utility settings.
