Lot 834: Mid-Century Modern Wood Veneer and Laminate Cocktail Sideboard
A mid-century modern sideboard and cocktail cabinet dating from approximately the 1950s or 1960s. The piece is constructed with mixed wood veneers and features contrasting laminate panels. The front is designed with a central drop-down cocktail compartment opening to reveal a grey and white marble-effect laminate interior. Positioned below the drinks section is a single wide drawer, which is lined with red felt and divided into three internal compartments. The unit includes three additional cupboard spaces: two curved-front cupboards at the sides and a rectangular cupboard at the lower centre. The top surface is finished in a light wood-grained laminate and is bordered at the rear by a raised gallery decorated with a gold-toned mesh strip. The cabinet is fitted with elongated, tapered brass-toned metal pull handles and is raised on four tapered wooden legs finished with brass-toned metal ferrules. A small white rectangular sticker with the handwritten characters 834 is present on the top surface.
