Lot 860: Large Victorian Style Solid Mahogany Pedestal Desk with Inset Leather Top
A large twin-pedestal executive desk in the Victorian style, constructed from solid mahogany. The rectangular top features a three-part inset black leather-effect writing surface bordered by a moulded mahogany edge. The desk is configured with nine drawers in total, comprising a central frieze drawer flanked by two pedestals, each containing a bank of four drawers. The pedestals are embellished with fluted pilasters at the front corners and rest on a plinth base. The drawers are fitted with brass swan-neck pull handles. The construction and finish indicate this is a 20th-century reproduction piece.
