Lot 895: Late Victorian Eastlake Style Mirrored Wardrobe with Gothic Revival Fretwork Panels
A late Victorian single-door wardrobe in the Eastlake style, featuring elements of Gothic Revival design. The piece is constructed from a reddish-brown stained hardwood, possibly mahogany, with a secondary wood interior of pine. The central door is fitted with a large rectangular mirror plate. The facade is embellished with vertical reeded pilasters and four inset pierced fretwork panels, each showcasing lancet-arched motifs. The interior is configured for hanging garments, containing a single pull-out metal rail and fixed hooks. The unit is fitted with a simple metal door handle. No maker’s marks are discernible.
