Lot 569: A Trio of Anchor Hocking Pressed Clear Glass Bowls
This lot comprises three items of decorative glassware. The largest piece is a circular clear cut glass platter, featuring a central sixteen-point multi-rayed star pattern. The design radiates outwards with six fan-cut panels interspersed with square panels containing fine cross-hatched diamond or hobnail patterns, finished with a serrated scalloped rim. The style and complexity of the cutting are characteristic of the American Brilliant Period. The second item is a relief-moulded rose bowl, decorated with pink-tinted roses and frosted leaves. The bowl stands on three integral feet formed by the moulded floral decoration. The third item is a deep circular bowl of opaque black glass, featuring a glossy surface and a slightly recessed base. No maker’s marks, signatures, or etched stamps were identified on any of the pieces.
