Lot 604: An Assortment of Marine Mollusc Shells and Fragments
A collection of three vintage decorative clear glass items, comprising an oval fruit bowl, a small cream jug, and a footed pedestal bowl. The oval bowl features a sawtooth notched rim and is decorated with large radial starburst or pinwheel motifs to the exterior and base, in a style resembling the Anchor Hocking Star of David pattern. The cream jug has a faceted handle and a flared scalloped rim, with the body decorated in a geometric pattern of diamonds and central stars. The footed pedestal bowl or compote is decorated in the Moon and Star pattern, characterised by large circular thumbprint indentations, a scalloped rim, and a stepped circular base. All pieces are made of pressed glass designed to emulate the appearance of cut crystal. A handwritten paper tag is attached to the oval bowl, transcribed as: 2010.
