Lot 218: An Assortment of Potted Garden Plants and Nursery Stock
A trio of cast stone garden wall plaques, designed in the style of Man in the Moon or garden grotesque faces. Each plaque depicts a distinct character with exaggerated facial expressions. The set includes one face with a hand held to its brow in a contemplative or pained pose, a second face with puffed-out cheeks and squinting eyes, and a third face with a startled, wide-eyed expression and slightly open mouth showing individual teeth. The items are crafted from a cast stone material featuring a textured, sandy surface and a natural weathered patina consistent with outdoor display. One ornament retains an auction label from HGP Auctions South West, marked Lot 219. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the items.
