Lot 229: A 20th Century Wrought Iron Three-Tier Graduated Garden Plant Stand
A decorative garden or interior statue depicting St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. The figure is rendered in a traditional cowled friar’s habit, secured with a knotted cord belt. He is portrayed cradling a bird in his hands, with a second bird perched upon his left shoulder. The statue is likely constructed from cold-cast resin or a similar reconstituted material, finished with an applied weathered bronze-effect surface. No maker’s marks, factory stamps, or model numbers are visible on the body of the item. A white circular adhesive label with the handwritten number 230 is present on the head, and a small blue adhesive mark is located on the reverse.
