This lot features a large hand-blown glass vessel, traditionally used as a demijohn or carboy for the storage and transport of liquids. The vessel is crafted from heavy-walled, forest green glass with a vibrant and translucent colour. It is formed with a free-blown globular body and a wide neck finished with a thick, hand-applied “blob” or ring rim. The base incorporates a deep conical kick-up or push-up, a characteristic feature of 19th and early 20th-century glass production designed for structural stability. No original maker’s marks or manufacturer stamps are visible on the glass. The body of the vessel carries a contemporary white rectangular auction label for HCP Auctions South West, marked as Lot 764. The piece is characteristic of utilitarian glassware produced across Europe and the United Kingdom throughout the 19th century.
