Lot 1067: A contemporary glass-topped dining table and a set of matching cantilever chairs
A vintage hand-operated sewing machine produced by Singer. The machine is constructed from black-enamelled cast iron and features elaborate gilt floral and scrollwork decals across the body and base. The name SINGER is visible in gilt lettering on the horizontal arm. The machine is mounted upon a rectangular fitted wooden base. This lot includes a matching bentwood wooden cover with the SINGER name in gilt and a metal key tied to the wooden handle. An assortment of accessories is present, comprising several presser feet and other machine components contained within a small box, accompanied by two worn paper instruction manuals and ephemera. The hand-crank mechanism features a turned wooden handle and a chrome-plated hand wheel.
