Buyer's Premium:

A lot comprising two late 19th-century silver-cased pocket watches. The first watch is a Swiss manufacture by Buren, retailed by Kendal and Dent. The white enamel dial features black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, and a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position, signed Kendal and Dent and Made in Buren. The silver case is stamped with Swiss hallmarks including three bears and 0.935, indicating a purity of 93.5 percent silver, with a serial number 39616. The case reverse features engine-turned decoration with a central vacant circular cartouche. The second watch is a Victorian sterling silver example, hallmarked for London 1886 with the date letter gothic L and the maker’s mark F.W, likely Frederick Wright. The unbranded white enamel dial features Roman numeral markers and a subsidiary seconds dial. The case reverse is engraved with an ornate central cartouche and bears the serial number 43548. Both watches possess key-wind and key-set movements and are accompanied by gold-toned winding keys.
