Lot 69: British Edwardian Cast Brass Art Nouveau Eagle and Lion Photograph Frame Containing a Photo of Queen Mary - Circa 1910
A British early 20th-century cast brass photograph frame of asymmetrical openwork design. The frame is elaborately decorated with heraldic motifs, featuring a large eagle with outspread wings on the left side and a lion mask nestled within scrolls on the right. The top and bottom borders consist of scrolled openwork apertures. The frame stands on two scrolled feet and features an integrated folding cast metal strut to the reverse. It contains a period monochrome portrait of Queen Mary wearing a pearl necklace. The reverse of the lower right leg is incised with the British Registered Design number RD 558308, which dates the design to approximately 1910.
