Lot 88: Late Victorian Silver Albert Watch Chain with Novelty Charms and Coins
A late Victorian period watch chain configured as an Albert chain, constructed from silver. The chain consists of uniform round links with a central decorative link featuring an openwork star motif. The piece terminates at one end with a T-bar and at the other with a swivel dog-clip clasp. It is decorated with an assortment of charms: a miniature trumpet, a miniature folding pocket knife with cream-coloured handle scales, a British silver 1888 Queen Victoria sixpence, and a smaller silver Queen Victoria threepence coin. A maker’s mark W C is visible on the swivel clasp.
