Lot 93: A Vintage Decorative Entomological Display in a Glass Snifter Form
This decorative entomological display features a single taxidermy butterfly specimen, identified as a species of Swallowtail (Papilio sp.), characterized by yellow and black patterned wings. The specimen is mounted upon an arrangement of artificial red and white roses, green foliage, and white feathers. The display is contained within a clear glass vessel of rounded snifter form, supported by a short stem and circular base. The vessel is sealed with a tiered, turned dark wood lid. The lid is finished with a small decorative motif depicting a yellow lemon with green leaves.
