Lot 102: A Large Framed Taxidermy Specimen of an Atlas Moth (Attacus atlas)
This framed taxidermy specimen features a giant silk moth identified as an Atlas moth (Attacus atlas). The specimen is presented in a full-wing-spread mount, highlighting the expansive wing surface area and distinctive hooked forewing tips typical of the species. It is mounted against a light-coloured background of diagonally-ribbed paper. The specimen is housed within a simple rectangular wooden shadow box frame with a glass front. The reverse is finished with a fibreboard backing.
